Back Blurb/ Query Letter Synopsis

Keegan, a warrior known as “Old Wolf,” has earned his rest, but he can’t resist one final adventure with his closest companion—his only family—Slater. Chasing rumors to The Ashlands, an uncharted badlands, Slater seeks a lost city, ancient wonders, and answers to forbidden knowledge. Keegan seeks a good death.

Caitlyn, a professor at Daerian College, is leading a team of students into The Ashlands on an archaeological mission. Unbeknownst to her students, she’s been exposed to bad magic, and the voice in her head, a prisoner locked within the Lost City, is leading her astray.

Prince Rune Martyr, sixth in line to the throne, has led a life of scandal. When he intercepts a spy delivering rumors and artifacts from The Ashlands, he commandeers a unit of Marines and sets off to look for the Lost City on his own.

Nemo, son of one of the most hated men in the world, took an oath he couldn’t fulfill. He now travels in self-imposed exile and has come to the Ashlands to become utterly lost.

The race to the Lost City is only for bragging rights, but the horror and Truths therein could destroy the world. Getting there is tough. Getting back out is nearly impossible. Can these disparate groups band together and stop the coming Darkness?
