Update 15 13-20 Sept.
Week 5 of 16 to Deadline
Welcome back to the thesis diary… this will be a short one. I’m actually away for the weekend, which did affect my word count and is affecting the writing of this post. I have just finished the first week back to school and my thesis is progressing.
Word Count
My goal is 5500 words a week and I hit a nice 5658… yes, I could have gotten more words in, but I will admit that I was a little lazy this week. Also, I took off for the weekend. The pandemic does suck and I needed to get away from my house, even if just for a few days. As it was my best friend’s birthday I went and visited him for the weekend.
Despite my laziness I still managed to hot my word goal and the WIP is now sitting at 97,561 total words.
Chapter 21 and 22
I finished chapter 21, this is the first Caitlyn chapter where I sort of felt it meandered a little too much. I wanted to end at a later moment as well but sort of petered out. I still think it works as a set up for the action/horror that is supposed to follow it.
Chap 22 is a return to Rune’s POV, I want to get him moved to the next set piece but I left off his last chapter with him still in the middle of learning more about what he’s heading into. The chapter has a slow and thus I didn’t put in as many words as I would have liked.
I also wrote a whole page and then deleted it… so it was a hard start for chapter 22.
This week’s plans
So, besides my classes… the rest of chapter 22 needs to get a lot more interesting. I need to get past the conversation at the beginning of the chapter and get to the “Oasis of Death.”
We’ll have imperial criminals, warlords, necromancy, and constructs made of flesh and metal. We’ll have twisted plants and animals as well. Should be a lot of fun.
Second Week of Classes
Believe it or not, in week 2 of my classes I’m turning in the first half of Part 1 of my final… which translates to I’m turning in 15000 words of my WIP to be graded and judged. I’m pretty excited to get some feedback.
Everything is going well and I hope that all is well with you dear readers.
