Irish Knights Game Zero

Welcome to Aysle

Next week we will continue with the Torg Eternity Game posts like normal… BUT we are traveling to a new COSM with new characters! If you want to read up more on Aysle I recommend going HERE. But the short version is this is the closest that TORG gets to doing a Dungeons and Dragons style setting. Basically, the UK and Northern Europe have been invaded by a 15th century medieval world with elves, dwarves, and magic.

Now, to save on repeating myself and also for those of you who have been reading all of these posts since day one, if you want to know about the main premise for my game and what TORG is all about, please read the original post in this series, HERE.

Irish Knights

So, this game begins on the exact same day as the Manhattan Knights, Invasion Day 90. The Delphi Council is currently based in several places around the world, but my teams have both started from an airstrip on the coast of Greenland. The Council is trying to get permission to move their operations to Iceland, and there have been a lot of rumors coming out of Northern Ireland that the Highlord of Aysle, Uthorian, is amassing a fleet. Of course, the Delphi Council is spinning these stories, after all the only place this fleet could really attack would be Iceland.

As much as the council is using these rumors, they actually prefer to know the truth of them. As such they have dispatched three knights to Donegal Castle in North Western Ireland with the mission of traveling overland toward Londonderry and discovering what is really happening.

So let me introduce you to the three new heroes, the Irish Knights:

Ash (real name long and hard to pronounce).

Ash is an Elf from Aysle who used to work for the wrong team. Before Ulthorian invaded Earth, he had been a discorporated spirit that had possessed the Queen of Aysle. While in her body he slowly and insidiously changed the laws of the land and twisted the real toward evil. Until he was defeated and driven from the Queen’s body.

Ash was an elven bladesinger, a mage and duelist, who even though he felt many of his orders were wrong and impure he still followed them. Ash is a strong willed and spiritually empowered warrior who bears a twisted purple scar across his face that forever marks him as one who “walked in darkness.” [in game turns it means most normal people assume he is a villain on sight and usually shy away from him].

This character is played by the same player who was Sasha in the Manhattan Knights.

Ragnall

Ragnall is a very grumpy, very drunk, old priest of the Church of Light in Aysle. He has a nasty attitude, he’s slow, he’s loud, and he’s a bit obnoxious. But he also has the hands of a healer, tons of knowledge about the spirits and dark things in the world, and he can call a bolt of lightning down from the sky. Despite his bad attitude and frail body, he is still a bold adventurer who is willing to go in swinging a stick and cursing about everything.

This foul-mouthed old man is played by the same player who was Kimiko in Manhattan Knights. (It is a VERY big change in character).

Davey Smith

Named after the wrestler of the same name, Davey Smith is an English body builder who is the only Core Earth member of the team. Dressed in jeans and with a massive pistol on his hip he stands out next to the chainmail wearing bladesinger and the robed cleric. Davey is a realm runner who has the ability to adapt to any Cosm and who also has a penchant for learning skills/powers from new cosms. He is the youngest member of the party but he is also the most physically strong and tallest of the group.

Irish Knights

These three represent the best of what was available to send into Ireland. So, ready for some teasers for the next few months?

We have undead, we have a dragon, we have a tree that is the prison for elder evils. We have the return of demi-gods to Ireland, the rebirth of the Druids, a ghostly Legion of men that are the Aysle equivalent of Rome. The formori, Balor, Arawn, and a ton of reversals and changes that will have the Knights crossing the whole of Ireland.

Ancient Earth magic will meld and vie with Aysle magic, and Ireland will rise up and try to free itself from the grasp of Aysle, but at what cost?

Blood, Mayhem, Vampires, Things in the Earth that should never be free…

Redemption and Damnation!

Its going to be a great time, so strap in and get ready for many, many, months of Irish Knights.
